The New Hampshire Courts System maintains a website which contains much useful information for people who are currently involved in a legal dispute in this state, or who are seeking information. Court Locations The Supreme Court is New Hampshire's Court of Appeals. The Court has the discretion to hear appeals from all of the State's lower courts. The Supreme Court is also bears much responsibility for the administration of the State's court system. The Superior Court has jurisdiction over a wide variety of cases, including criminal, domestic relations, and civil cases, and provides the only forum in this state for trial by jury. Alternative Dispute Resolution The Family Division is a pilot project of the Court system operating in Rockingham and Grafton Counties. In those counties the Family Division handles all cases involving divorce and child custody, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency and Children in Need of Services (CHINS), abuse and neglect, adoption, guardianship of minors and termination of parental rights. The Probate Court has jurisdiction over a variety of cases including trusts, wills and estates, adoptions, termination of parental rights, name changes, guardianship of incapacitated persons, guardianship of minors, partition of property and involuntary commitments. Probate Court Forms Available On Line Cases within the jurisdiction of the District Court involve families, juveniles, small claims, landlord tenant matters, minor crimes and violations and civil cases in which the disputed amount does not exceed $25,000.
